PROGRAM

Glaze Founding Hospital Program

For pediatric hospitals and research institutions.

WHY

Restoring patients’ sense of agency through art-making.

Glaze is a digital tool that activates works of art for medical care — patients paint, not only observe. It works with a hospital’s own art collection, or with one we build together from our museum library.

HYPOTHESIS

  1. An authentic process creates focus — the brush and paints behave like real materials, so every gesture leaves a trace slightly different from the one the patient expected.

  2. Focus sustained across a session becomes flow.

  3. Flow raises the sense of agency.

A hypothesis, not a finding. It is why the program is built to be studied.

From the ward to home — patients keep painting the same collection after discharge

What every participating institution receives

Every implementation is built for a single hospital — its collection, its ward, its clinicians.

CUSTOMIZED PLATFORM

A dedicated build of Glaze for your hospital: your ward, your workflow, your branding

GUIDED IMPLEMENTATION

Seven stages run alongside your clinicians, from discovery and IT review to staff training and launch

CURATED ARTWORK COLLECTION

Around ten works chosen with your team — from your own holdings, or built together from our museum library

LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP

Quarterly sessions with your team and direct access to the Glaze team, for as long as you are in the program. Not a support queue

ONGOING ADAPTATION

New artworks, revised content and changes drawn from what the ward learns — your implementation keeps developing after launch

CUSTOM EDUCATIONAL CONTENT

Sketches, tutorials and guided painting experiences written for your works, reviewed for clinical tone with your tea

PARTICIPATION

Three ways to join the program

Institutions do not licence an application. They join a program that develops alongside them — shaping the content, the clinical workflow and the questions we explore together.

Each program has its own purpose and its own qualifying criteria. They are not tiers of the same offer.

Hospital Program

For hospitals joining after the Founding cohort has closed.
Price per year.

$40,000

INCLUDES

  • Implementation & custom development

  • New features and platform updates

  • Participation in the roadmap

Founding Hospital Program

For the first institutions building the program with us.
Limited to 20 institutions. Price per year.

$20,000

INCLUDES

  • Implementation & custom development

  • Rate held for as long as the institution remains in the program

  • Direct influence on the roadmap

  • Joint definition of best practice

  • First access to new features and platform updates

Sponsored Research Partnership

For institutions running an agreed research program.
Sponsorship for the duration of the study.

Sponsored

INCLUDES

  • Everything in the Hospital Program

  • Custom development required by the study — data collection, measurement instruments, changes to the application flow

  • Research designed, conducted and published independently — by Knology, an independent non-profit social science research organisation, or by the institution’s own researchers

  • Well of Art provides the technology and the implementation — never the study itself

  • Scope of each study agreed separately with the institution and its review board

  • If the institution continues after the study, it does so at the Founding Hospital rate

Founding members pay half the standard rate — for as long as they stay in the program.

HOW IMPLEMENTATION WORKS

From the first conversation to the ward

Seven stages, run together with the hospital team. Each one is set out in full in the implementation guide.

The pace is set by the hospital’s own IT, security and compliance review — that is the key variable, and it belongs to the hospital’s process, not to ours.

On our side, the build and onboarding typically take a few months of active collaboration. Glaze has already completed a full two-year security, compliance and risk review at a US academic children’s hospital.

A NOTE ON HOSPITAL ART COLLECTIONS

Many hospitals maintain art collections — acquired with the belief that cultural engagement supports patient wellbeing. Glaze gives those collections a new function: a structured creative experience that patients can participate in, not only observe. For hospitals without an existing collection, we build one together from our library of museum content.

INDEPENDENT RESEARCH

The program is built to be studied — by researchers, not by us. Well of Art provides the technology and the clinical implementations; scientific evaluation is designed, conducted and published independently by Knology, a non-profit social science research organisation.

WHICH PROGRAM FITS

Hospital Program — open to any hospital.

Founding Hospital Program — institutions willing to shape content, workflow and best practice with us, and to remain in dialogue as the platform develops.

Sponsored Research Partnership — institutions with a defined research question and a route through their own review board. The study may be run with Knology or by the institution’s own researchers.

IMPLEMENTATION & CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT

Every participating institution may propose custom functionality supporting its clinical workflow, its implementation process or its research activity.

Proposals are reviewed and prioritised together with the institution. Functionality of general value is built into the platform and becomes available to every participant — which is how the program grows.
